Ezhome Moola, A gift
of nature, overflows many natural splendors, mountains, paddy fields, coconut
trees, sweetly singing colourful birds and bright blue sky.
Ezhome (Moola)
village is lying to the northwest part of Kannur District. The village is
surrounded by Payangadi-Kuppam river, Payangadi Town, Neruvambrum and
Talipparamba.
PHYSIOGRAPHY
On 1st January 2000
people of Ezhome (Moola), changed its name to Ezhome – West.
Ezhome West may be divide into two geographical regions:
High Lands and Low Lands.
High lands between podithadam-Neruvambrum and Moola, which rise to an average height of 100 M. This is an area of
intensive cultivation like Cashew, Jackfruit, and Mango etc.; also different
verities of flowers are grown in this area.
The low lands
which made-up of the river delts, which is essentially a land of coconuts and
rice (paddy).
Approximately
76% of the people of Ezhome (Moola) and nearest area depend on agriculture.
Paddy is the chief in cultivation. They
are grown on the lagoon area which is locally called ‘Karakandam or Kaippad’
The total area under paddy field is in 199 was 200ha.
One of the chief
constraints in increasing agricultural production is lack of irrigational
facilities. Though the useful land
area is extreamely small.
